Spring Gold - YF
Arriving just after Camden, Springgold is the first
peach to hit the market with good fruit size. Left
to ripen properly and this is the first summerfruit you
may taste for some time, and is delicious. Great
on the cornies in the morning. Gran loves them sliced
on toast.

Spring Crest - YF
A larger peach, Spring Crest ripens in the first week
of December and is a great way to open the season. If
you're not a fan of peach fuzz, this is the one for
you - beautiful colour and very little fuzz - a lovely
peach to handle. Hawke's Bay Clean has a policy of allowing
all fruit to reach optimum ripeness on the tree before
it is picked. You'll understand why when you taste
a Hawke's Bay Clean Spring Crest - it needs that time
on the tree to develop its best flavour, but oh, it is
worth the wait.

June Lady - YF
Look out for June Lady around Christmas and New Year,
this large and flavour packed peach will arrive just in
time for the holidays. Another peach that benefits
from tree ripening, it is wonderful eaten fresh, on its
own or sliced on desserts or breakfasts. This bright red
and gold skinned beauty can be with you throughout the
year though if you enjoy making jams and preserves. Try
halving the sugar in any of your recipes when using June
Lady - this peach is so well balanced in sweetness and
tartness you just won't need it. Your preserves will have
a lovely deep yellow-orange colour.

Improved Flavourcrest - YF
The flesh is a strong yellow with red around the stone,
the skin is dappled red-orange on a yellow background.
Improved Flavourcrest is a later ripening version of the
Crest peach family, available in the first week of January.
Big size, big flavour, big colour, and a good dose of
acidity - nothing about this peach is small. Icecream
and fresh sliced peaches for dessert? Improved Flavour
Crest is ideal as its acidity creates that perfect balance
of sweet and tart.

White Lady - WF
If you've a sweet tooth, you'll love this one!
With its delicate peach flavour and low fuzz skin,
White Lady is one of the best of the new breed of white
fleshed peaches. The flesh is creamy white, with bright
red shading around the pit, and the flesh colours are
reflected in a skin of deep pink on a white background.
A true freestone - slice around the peach, twist
the halves, and the stone will fall away. With their
dramatic coloring, these are a wonderful fruit to serve
sliced on their own.

Elegant Lady - YF
Elegant Lady is almost too pretty to eat - the skin
is red-violet over a yellow-orange background with
yellow leaf shadows. This is a large peach, available
from mid-January through to mid-February. Handle them
gently - their skin is delicate - but they will
reward you well for your care. The flesh has a
wonderful creamy texture with a rich and complex
flavour, and not too tart. The jam is outstanding
and deeply coloured.

Golden Queen - YF
The great standard bottling peach. Although they are ideal for bottling,
we tend to local-market only the biggest and sweetest, so you'll find
them good fresh as well.
